I chose to earn my MSN degree because I wanted to do more for people. I wanted to let patients know that healthcare providers do listen 和 are here to help them. So, I began to research schools 和 that’s when I came across Herzing. What stood out to me about Herzing was its integrity,
The admissions counselors 和 my original student advisor Meaghan were fantastic in helping me get started! I was able to complete my program quickly with additional help from my transfer credits. I also liked that Herzing had classes through the summer 和 is fast-tracked compared to other schools.
I would say that Advanced Pathophysiology 和 Pharmacology were most valuable in preparing me for my career. These two courses were essentially the backbone of what my knowledge was built around! So much so that I often find myself referencing back to my patho 和 pharm notes or index cards for help! I’d like to give a special shout-out to Professor Lynn, who was one of the best professors 和 clinical advisors I have ever had throughout my educational journey!
As amazing as my experience was, I faced two challenges while earning my degree at Herzing. The first challenge was one that many of us face: time management. 管理农场, 一个家, 一个家庭, 工作和学业都不容易, but I learned to find the time for each of these.
COVID was the second challenge I faced 和 what a challenge to overcome it was! Unfortunately, I had to take a semester off because there were no available clinicals in my area. I learned to work through the new rules 和 regulations COVID created. I kept my goal in sight even through the hard times, 和 eventually found my success!
Now that I’m graduating, I’m looking forward to starting my new career 和 continuing to learn. In medicine, I believe that you never stop learning from the patients you work with every day. Making a difference in at least one person's life, even if that is simply putting a smile on their face,
I was surprised at how much confidence I gained in myself while earning my degree. I felt like I was lost 和 would never remember all this information, but I stuck with it 和 eventually found success.
If I had any advice to leave, it’s getting as much experience as a nurse as you can!
